Meet The Team: Mike Brixner

Meet The Team: Mike Brixner

Born and raised in Seattle on Queen Anne Hill, Mike Brixner has deep roots in The Emerald City. He recently celebrated his 30th anniversary with Martin Selig Real Estate, and says working for Martin is the best real estate job in the world.

After graduating from law school, Mike knew he wanted to apply his legal education to the business world. In the late 70’s, he was intrigued by Seattle’s growth and wanted to be a part of it. He started working as a real estate broker in 1978 and loved the industry. He came to Martin Selig Real Estate in 1987 and has been there ever since.

Negotiating Deals Win, Win, Win

Mike’s typical day includes working with real estate brokers, negotiating deals, and of course, answering countless emails. He says he most enjoys working with brokers and tenants to create “Win Win Win” deals. In each interaction, his goal is to negotiate contracts that bring the most value to all parties involved.

Mike’s top buildings are 5th and Yesler for its architecture and 333 Elliott for its view, but his favorite building is 1000 Second Avenue, his team’s office, because it’s been home for 30 years. He loves the family aspect of his workplace, from the people he’s spent the last three decades working with to his son who has been a leasing agent for two years.

He refers to his team as “the smartest people in the world” and says from agents, to architects, project managers and in-house legal counsel, his team is top notch and can answer any question you throw at them.

The Martin Selig Real Estate Difference

Mike says there’s no one in the world like Martin Selig, and that’s why employees rarely leave the company. Martin makes instant decisions and his door is always open. Likening him to Walt Disney, Mike says Martin’s incredible imagination, persistence, and drive to achieve goals are what’s helped him achieve his phenomenal success.

Mike loves Seattle for the seafood, the water, and the lifelong friends he has in the area. When he’s not working, he enjoys reading, playing golf, and spending time on Whidbey Island. He’s also passionate about travel and he and his wife were the first American couple ever to be married in Seattle’s French sister city, Nantes.
