Featured Tenant: The Gottman Institute

This week, we’re zooming in on The Gottman Institute, one of the world’s most trusted companies for science-based relationship advice, counseling, and clinical training. We asked them a few questions about their work and their workspace. Here’s what they had to say.

Tell us about The Gottman Institute. What’s your company’s mission and vision?

Our mission is to improve people’s lives through products and programs that educate, inspire, and heal. Our approach to relationship health was developed from over 40 years of research with more than 3,000 couples, and that research continues today. It includes most extensive study ever done on marital stability and divorce prediction.

The quality of our lives is determined by the quality of our relationships. We are passionate about making the world a more loving and inclusive place for everyone.

How does your office space, layout, and location enable you to accomplish this mission and vision?

Our open office space encourages collaboration, communication, and community. We are committed to the care and support of our team by providing a comfortable and elegant office space in which our team can thrive. We know that compassion must begin with ourselves, so our central and prominent location communicates how seriously we take our work.

How long has your company been a tenant with Martin Selig Real Estate? Has your company grown and expanded during that time?

We have been a tenant with Martin Selig Real Estate since February 2017. We have grown during that time by developing new programs, creating new positions, and bringing in new employees. We plan to continue expanding with the Martin Selig team. (They’re hiring)!

What is your favorite part about your office space and location?

The views! We are on the 17th floor with floor to ceiling windows looking out across Elliott Bay towards West Seattle and the Olympic Mountains. Our team is consistently drawn toward looking out the windows at the beautiful vistas, and our clients often comment on how prestigious our office space is. The Martin Selig Real Estate support staff are wonderful. They make our office feel like home!
