Martin Selig Real Estate Breaks Ground on Belltown based WeWork, WeLive Project

The Martin Selig Real Estate team broke ground Thursday morning on our latest project in collaboration with WeWork and WeLive. The building will be a 36-floor multi purpose space divided equally between commercial and residential space and will be the first WeLive location on the West Coast. Located in Seattle’s Belltown neighborhood at 3rd and Lenora, this building is planned to open in the spring of 2020.

“We are excited for this opportunity to bring WeLive to Seattle,” said James Woods, Head of WeLive. “Together, WeWork and the Selig team are creating a building that will provide Seattleites with a place to live, work, and play, and create opportunities for the We community and the Seattle community to come together.”

Our team at MSRE will be working with WeWork and WeLive over the next few years to create innovative and dynamic workspaces for Seattle companies.

“With WeLive, WeWork has developed a truly unique product that not only provides its members with a superior experience and value rooted in community, but also provides superior returns for owners such as ourselves,” said Jordan Selig, Managing Director at Martin Selig Real Estate. WeWork provides more than 130,000 members around the world with space, community, and services through both physical and virtual offerings. They currently have more than 163 locations in 52 cities and 15 countries around the world. WeLive, WeWork’s approach to living in the 21st century, is focused on community, convenience, and flexibility. This residential community currently serves hundreds of members across 400 apartments at its first two locations in New York City and Northern Virginia, both of which opened in spring 2016.

WeLive apartments range from studios to four-bedroom apartments, and come fully furnished with everything members need to move right in – from kitchen supplies and bed linens to HDTVs and high-speed internet. WeLive’s shared spaces, including movie rooms, lounge areas, workout studios, and chef’s kitchens, and event offerings provide opportunities for members to connect, interact, relax, and recharge. Members in WeLive’s first two locations range from young up-and-comers, to families, to retirees and more.

“Just steps from Pike Place Market and Seattle’s retail core, this is a one-of-a-kind project that brings both a co-working and co-living environment into a single building,” Selig said. “It’s perfectly situated to serve Seattle’s growing innovative community.”

At Martin Selig Real Estate, we’re passionate about creating innovative office spaces in the Puget Sound and catering to companies large and small. To stay up-to-date on Martin Selig Real Estate projects and news, like us on Facebook.
